GLP-1 plateau — answered straight
GLP-1 Plateau
A GLP-1 plateau — the scale refusing to move for weeks — is usually not the medication failing: as the weight comes off, muscle comes off with it, and muscle is the tissue that burns calories all day, so a smaller, less muscular body simply burns less than it used to.

Why it happens
Every body that loses a lot of weight reaches a point where the loss slows down. You weigh less, so you need fewer calories just to live — and if some of what you lost was muscle, your daily burn drops further still. The plateau is your body balancing the books, not you doing something wrong.
Here is the part almost nobody tells women on a GLP-1: in studies of GLP-1 weight loss, a real share of the weight lost — in some cases up to about 40% — can be lean mass, the tissue that includes muscle, especially without strength training. Less muscle means a slower metabolism, and a slower metabolism is exactly what a plateau feels like.
That is also why the fix is not “eat even less.” Eating less speeds up the muscle loss that caused the stall. The way through a plateau is to protect — and rebuild — the muscle that drives your burn. Questions about your dose or medication belong to the doctor who prescribed it; what training can do is change the body the medication is working on.
Break it with muscle
Strength training is the one lever that raises what your body burns while you keep losing. This is the work we coach live inside Skinny Fat Fix.
Train progressively, not randomly
Muscle only stays if it has a reason to. Progressive training — a little more weight, a few more reps, week over week — is the signal that tells your body to keep its muscle while the fat comes off.

Our members train live with Coach RJ on weekday mornings, with Live Form Check Sundays — real coaching in real time, at home, with dumbbells and long resistance bands with handles. Form checked, effort pushed, nothing guessed.
Judge the plateau by strength, not just the scale
During a plateau the scale can sit still while your body is still changing. Getting stronger week to week is proof the muscle — and the metabolism that comes with it — is coming back.
Protect the muscle you still have
Every week of training during weight loss is a week your body keeps more muscle. The best time to start was your first week on the medication. The second-best time is this one.
Same problem, other doors
These pains travel together. Start wherever yours shows up most.

Is a GLP-1 plateau normal?
Yes. Plateaus are a normal part of any large weight loss — as you get lighter, your body needs fewer calories, so loss slows until something changes. A stall of a few weeks is your body adjusting, not a sign you’ve failed.
Should I change my dose to break the plateau?
That’s a question for the doctor who prescribed your medication — never adjust a dose on your own, and no exercise program should advise you on medication. What you can control is the muscle side of the equation, and that’s what training is for.
Can exercise really break a plateau?
Strength training protects the muscle that sets your daily calorie burn, which is the part of the plateau you can actually change. It doesn’t promise a number on the scale by a date — anyone who promises that is guessing — but it directly attacks the reason the stall happened.
I’m a beginner. Can I even do this?
Yes. Skinny Fat Fix is built for beginners: every move is coached live, loads start light, and Coach RJ watches your form. You need dumbbells and long resistance bands with handles — no gym, no experience.
